Thankfully the gun also doubles as a weapon, meaning Chell isn’t too useless outside of Portal environments. Though this may seem a bit limiting, it’s understandable why it’s like this: Lego game stages are far less complex than Portal stages and being able to teleport wherever you like would have made things far too easy. There’s one slight catch, mind: you can only fire portals onto special square tiles. This section feels most like you’re playing a Portal game, with you using your Portal gun to solve puzzles while GLaDOS continually taunts you and Wheatley offers words of advice. The level you get with the Portal 2 level pack is called Aperture Science, though you could probably get away with calling it Portal 3 if you wanted (GLaDOS even describes it as “round three” at one point). The Portal 2 stage in the main story mode is probably the longest in the game, and there’s even an outstanding Portal-related surprise right at the end ( click here for spoilers), which would probably be more well-known among the gaming community if more Valve fans played Lego games. Use the two laser cubes to put the three lasers into one portal at the three angles in the picture. After that, you simply need to quick change fling over to the exit. ![]() Before redirecting the last one into the receiver, be sure to destroy the turrets by the door with the laser. ![]() Using normal portals and the quick change flinging, get you and the cubes up to the laser, and zig zag it across the map, going through all the nodes. ![]() When you fall back through the one on the ground, you will fling out like a normal fling. Jump through the portal and when you fly back out of it, change the portal above the faith plates to where you want to fling from. To do so, put a portal above the faith plates, and then one on the floor near them. For the third one you will need to do some quick change flinging. There are three cubes in this room, use portals to get all three down on the floor. Then position then through all four laser nodes and into the receiver at the end. Take the laser cubes over to the laser and use them to take out the turret. Set the light bridge up so both the cubes land safely on the ground and push the button again.
